You might want to grab a tea… I am originally from a French/English bilingual family in Quebec. I grew up in a mindful family, learning tools like meditation and visualization, and adopting a Mind-Body-Spirit approach to wellness at a very young age. Having an upbringing focused on mindful and holistic living was a great advantage, but not enough to prevent the inevitable hardships of life, and not enough to make them easy to go through. My parents divorced, I experienced bullying in school, and went through periods of low self-esteem and self-loathing. I felt different and learned how to cope and adapt in the best way I knew how.</image:caption>

I have a dynamic approach, meaning I am not a therapist who sits back and only offers reflective listening. While I do offer this, I also engage, lovingly challenge, and roll up my sleeves to get down in the trenches with you. My clients often comment that they feel deeply accepted and seen with love and compassion, and this connection is a deeply sacred and transformative healing agent. Free 20 minute initial consultations are available. Starting with this is a wonderful way for us to connect and feel into whether we are the right fit for each other. There are no strings attached, no hidden sales pitch, no further obligations. I offer this time for free, whole-heartedly, as I know that choosing to work with a therapist that we resonate with, can see ourselves trusting and being vulnerable with, is key to the magic that can happen in a counselling relationship.       <image:title>Counselling - Forest Walking Sessions</image:title>
      <image:caption>I now offer one-on-one, 90 minute Forest Walking Sessions in Vancouver, generally around Pacific Spirit Forest (near UBC), but location may vary. There are so many benefits to moving our bodies and being in nature for our overall wellbeing, and especially while engaging in therapy. Outdoor (or walk/talk) therapy sessions may involve walking, meandering, communing with nature, slowing down, walking in silence together, sitting on a log, in a comfortable meadow or on a bench, and perhaps even getting playful or ceremonial. It will generally include addressing therapeutic goals and topics. While movement may be a benefit to you physically, the focus of the experience is therapy, not exercise. You will be invited to set the walking pace that feels appropriate for you, and to choose preferred areas in the environment that feel most comfortable. I choose trails that are mostly flat, easy, comfortable, and enchanting. Outdoor therapy has a variety of potential benefits that may help us determine if this an appropriate mode of therapy for you: Meeting outside of the typical office/home environment can provide a change of scenery and help in getting “unstuck” in the therapeutic process. Meeting in person instead of virtually can enhance presence and connection. Evidence that bilateral rhythmic movement (i.e. walking) can evoke potentially helpful changes in brain chemistry and enhance processing difficult therapy material. Expanded options for grounding, relaxation, or mindfulness strategies. Less formal/clinical setting can increase accessibility and comfort. Empirical evidence that contact with nature decreases rumination and negative mood states, and positively impacts attention and concentration. Greater connection to the natural world and the environment has been shown to improve well-being. Other specific benefits related to the treatment plan (gradual exposure for phobias, social anxiety, etc.). As this might not be appropriate for everyone or ever session, if you are a new client, I will request that we have at least one online session prior to meeting in nature. If you are an existing client, you can contact me to book these sessions. These sessions are 90 min. long so we aren’t rushed in settling in and finding our pace.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Immersion Journey - Immersion Journeys</image:title>
      <image:caption>Consider an Immersion journey as your very own customized, one-on-one therapeutic and experiential workshop. If you are in the midst of a transition, or want to deepen your healing and growth journey in a bigger way, and you feel ready to dive deep, immerse yourself, and want more movement than the gradual and slow progress of weekly sessions, this might be something that calls to you. These journeys are gentle, yet profound. The journey consists of a few initial online preparation sessions, from which I would craft your very own personalized 3-4 hour immersion journey (or workshop). The immersive 3-4 hour journey itself would be held online or in person, depending on your preference, and might weave together such practices as talking/story telling, movement, sound, creative expression, spiritual work, journaling, ritual and altars, mindfulness, etc. I have access to gorgeous sacred spaces in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area for those who want an in-person experience. In the weeks following the immersion journey, we would schedule 1-2 online, follow-up integration sessions to help you weave your experience into your every day life. I also offer exclusive one-on-one online text/voice support for one week leading up to the immersion journey, and one week after, to support with preparation and integration beyond our schedules sessions. This is suitable for women who have have done personal development work before, are aware of their trauma history and have done some healing work around it (it doesn’t mean it has to be healed or resolved), and are comfortable with embodiment experiences, and more mindfulness and spirituality based exercises and ritual/ceremony. This is non-religious, but deeply spiritual healing work. This option is also open to existing clients, this means that we can include an immersion session into the midst of our regular sessions.
